Restylane®
Restylane® is designed to smooth wrinkles, sculpt lips and shape facial contours. It is a clear, synthetic gel made with hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that is found throughout your body. It carries little risk of allergic reaction. The most common areas for treatment are the glabellar lines (between the eyebrows) and the nasolabial folds (from the root of the nose to the angle of your mouth). With its unique ability to bind with water, Restylane remains in your skin for many months.
Perlane®
Perlane® is an injectable filler used to treat deep facial lines, augment the lips and contour the cheeks and chin. Made by the same company that produces Restylane®, Perlane contains purified hyaluronic acid, a sugar found naturally in the body that works with collagen to keep the skin smooth and supple. It is hypoallergenic and so does not require a pre-treatment skin test. With its unique ability to bind with water, Perlane continues to perform up to 60% longer than collagen.
Radiesse™
Radiesse™ is a synthetic injectable filler that reduces wrinkles, creases and scars by augmenting the body’s natural collagen supply. Composed of microspheres in a biocompatible gel, Radiesse is made from the same minerals found in our bones, so it carries little risk of allergic reaction. Radiesse can be used on many areas of the body, including the lips, nasolabial folds, peri-oral lines, depressed scars and oral commissures.
Treatments typically take 15 minutes and require only local anesthetic. Side effects such as swelling or bruising are minimal and should fade within a few days. Results are visible immediately after the injection and can last for months or years, although the procedure can be repeated as often as you wish.
Fat Transfer
Fat injection reduces wrinkles and creases and plumps up areas that have lost volume as a result of surgery, injury, aging or another cause. Transplanted fat that comes from the patient him- or herself does not carry a risk of allergic reaction or rejection. Other advantages include a short recovery time, long-lasting results and effectiveness on any skin type.
AlloDerm®
AlloDerm® is used under the surface of the skin to enhance soft tissue. When used as an implant to replace inadequate tissue, AlloDerm can be folded, rolled or stacked to provide the amount of tissue needed. AlloDerm is a tissue graft processed from donated allograft skin. LifeCell Corporation removes cells from the donor skin leaving only the collagen scaffold of the dermis (the bottom layer of skin). Tissue banks throughout the United States surgically remove skin from donors using sterile operating room techniques.
AlloDerm is regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as banked human tissue for transplantation to repair or replace soft tissue. Before LifeCell receives donated skin, the tissue donors undergo rigorous screening by the Tissue Bank. When transplanted to a patient, the AlloDerm graft gradually becomes a natural part of the patient's own tissue and performs like normal, healthy tissue thereafter.
AlloDerm® has many advantages that make it unique in comparison to other products. Since it is human tissue, AlloDerm does not cause an inflammatory response or allergic reaction, and the pretreatment skin testing required with animal collagen is not needed. Also, once the graft has healed, it does not have the feeling of hardness that is reported with many synthetic materials. When placed below the surface of the skin as an implant, some swelling should be expected and possibly mild bruising. Much of the swelling will be gone within a few days. After healing is completed, you will no longer feel the AlloDerm graft, but it will still be present. It simply will have become a normal part of your own tissue.
